Pinch Me NY
Just returning from 4 days of New York. Starting with our lecture at Aperture which was amazing to the Art 212 fair, galleries in Chelsea and most of all just spending time with so many friends, artists.
The lecture was surreal, fun and slightly stressful. To keep things from not getting out of hand and to allow enbough time for 3 artists and a moderator to talk, levae room for questions and book signings we each had only 15 mins to talk. While I thought it went well, I think I prefer having the time to really get into it.
So many people showed that I had met or have only known through the website. Including:
Amani Olu, Jon Feinstein, Bill Sullivan, Paul Shambroom, Sarah Sudhoff, Bryan Lear, Matt Nighswander, Tim Briner, Erin Hosier, Richard Renaldi, Christian Patterson, Dylan Chatain, Alison Hoekstra, Tema Stauffer, Graham MacIndoe, Amy Elkins, Alice Wells, Scott Jackson, Shen Wei, Amy Stein, Christophe Agou, Gretchen Wagner, James Wagner, Raul Gutierrez, Mike Hoeh, Jason Falchook
I know I've forgotten some but thanks to all who showed. Can't say how much of an honor it was to show work along side Paul Strand photographs, et al., woah...
Add to this surreality, look for a review of my show from this summer at Robert Koch Gallery in the October Issue of ArtForum magazine. Holy Shi#)

Congrats Brian! Thats great.
Was good to see you, really enjoyed your 15min @ Aperture.
It was a great lecture. Unfortunately, I had to leave right when it was over to go to a dinner. I wanted to say hello, but never had the chance. Maybe next time.
Congratulations on the Artforum review also.
Great job Brian..
15min was not enough!! I really wish you would have talked more at Aperture..
Thanks for signing my Book!
Mike,
Damn 2nd time we almost met. In the insanity of all the people I didn't put 2 and 2 together. Next time!
Thanks!
Jason, certainly next time.
Really enjoyed the talk... great to hear the thinking behind the work... and I look forward to chapters 2 and 3!
