Del Rey

In my previous life, I was as enthusiastic about music as photography, playing in bands, booking shows, and organizing music festivals, etc. In graduate school I decided I was only going to concentrate on one thing for once in my life, rather than continue to try and equally invest time in music and art.
I came to discover and love old Fender guitars, most notably one called a Bass VI. One of the first 6 string bass guitars. This instrument was basically the same as a guitar but one octave lower. The VI offered the possible of unique chordings, and simply created unique thick baritone like sounds.
Another practioner of the Bass VI is a band here in Chicago called Del Rey. Sometimes Bass VI, a baritone guitar and two drummers, sometimes bass, bass VI and drums, these instrumental meanderers just released their 4th Album, A Pyramid for Living. take a listen.

I too was as enthusiastic about music as I am about photography. I still miss it sometimes.

i didn't concentrate on one thing only and now my bassplaying and photography are equally bad.
